File Extension Contact

The file extension contact is a file extension that is used to keep track of the contact information of the person who created the file in the first place. This is a tool that is used to show who creates files and also who modifies them. Listing the contact information for each user is a better way to keep track of who does what in the computer world. The only two programs that use this file extension are Microsoft Windows Vista and Microsoft Windows Live. Microsoft Windows Vista is a graphics based operating system that is designed to be more user-friendly than previous versions of windows. Windows Live is a media center that enables users to access the web, instant message, edit photos, and e-mail all in one place.

I really do love FileCure because it's so easy to use - you don't have to be some kind of computer guru to get just what you need!

Plug and play? Not even close. I spent a lot of time trying to get my new, so-called 'plug and play' scanner to work. I was about ready to take it back. ParetoLogic FileCure got it working and saved me a needless trip (and gas!!) back to the store.

I have to admit I'm no computer geek. When something goes wrong, I usually have to call someone to fix it and it costs me a lot of money. When my printer wouldn't work, a friend of mine suggested I try ParetoLogic FileCure a try. I figured it was worth a shot because I was going to have to pay for a geek anyway. I was so happy when it worked... and worked properly!

I figured the graphics card my grandson gave me was broken when I couldn't get it work on my computer. It turns out that I just didn't have the right driver. ParetoLogic FileCure got it workin.

Hello FileCure folks:

I can't thank you enough for this great product. I just bought a new Vista machine and had been having all kinds of problems. First it was my screen and once I got that fixed it was the printer . Finally, my son suggested I try your product. It worked great and continues to keep my computer working. Thanks you.

Reggie E., N. Dakota

I hate paying a lot of money for anything. That's why I buy mostly used computer equipment. Last week I thought I got taken when I bought a scanner. It just would not work. ParetoLogic Driver Cure got it working. With the updates, it makes sure my stuff will keep working and that I don't have to pay more money.

I work at a school so my mom thinks I am some kind of computer whiz. I have wasted so much time trying to get her stuff to work. Our IT guy suggested I try ParetoLogic FileCure. It has been a godsend and has saved me a lot of wasted hours. My mom and I can't thank you enough.

My wife bought me a new Vista system, and ever since I have had problems with some of my hardware. I saw FileCure, and decided to give it a shot. Ever since, the Vista and my hardware have been working great. Thanks!

I upgraded my system to Vista, and my printer started to act funny. No error messages, but it just wasn't working quite right. I read that drivers could sometimes be the problem. I looked online and saw FileCure. After downloading FileCure, my printer works great. You guys rock!

The two programs that use the contact file extension are Microsoft Windows Live and Microsoft Windows Vista. If you do not have either Windows Vista or Windows Live then you should never run across the file extension contact. The extension is a sub-extension that is listed after the regular file extension such as .exe or .bat. The extension contact is not supposed to influence the opening or closing of the root extension in any way. The contact extension is only there to list the contact information of the creator of the root file.

More Info Regarding File Extension Contact

The file extension contact cannot be opened on its own. As it is a sub-extension there is no program that is designed to open it. However, there is way to look at the files to see the original origin of the each file. In Windows mail go to the Windows Contacts folder and open it up. It will pull a list of names with the contact file extension attached to each. Here you can find a list of names of people who have created files or sent messages to you. The contact file will be attached to each name. Once you find the list then you can click on the names to find their full contact information. It is possible to hide the extensions if the extra long file extension names are bothersome to you.

There are certain errors that can occur with the file extension contact. The main error that occurs is that a file will not open with this trailing file extension. One reason that the file may not open is because the wrong operating system is being used. Sometimes when a file from Windows Vista or Windows Live is transferred to another computer that does not have Windows Vista or Windows Live the file may not open. If this happens then try and open the file in a computer that has Windows Vista or Windows Live. The other error that can occur is a registry error. Sometimes errors in Window's registry causes files to not open.

The best way to fix a registry problem is to download a free registry scanning program. These programs can be found by conducting an Internet search. Once the program is downloaded and installed run the program to see which files are causing the trouble for the rest of the computer. Once the problem files have been located, then they need to be deleted, fixed, or moved to another location. Some registry scanning programs can also fix the issue while some others require a manual solution. If you are unsure how to deal with registry issues contact a technical support representative for Windows Vista. Fixing the registry issues should allow the file extensions to open again. If they still do not open, then the files themselves are probably corrupted.

If you find the visibility of the file extension contact bothersome, it is possible to hide it. The first step is to download the program contacts_hideext.reg from any site online that has it. Once the program has been downloaded to the desktop, then right click on the file. Highlight the option “merge,” and then click on it. This will cause the contact file extension to disappear from view when you are looking at files in any other location. It is possible to bring back the extension by downloading the program contacts_showext.reg and performing the same action with this file. Now that you can hide and show the contact file extension there is no reason to worry about it any more.
